Alphonse and Garry Fletcher boarded at Mr & Mrs Monaghan,s home on Airid St. in Saskatoon while we both attended U of S Their daughter Cecile and my wife Marion were classmates at St Paul,s school of nursing Al, his brother and I spent many evenings around Monaghan,s piano singing. Alphonse came to Yorkton to produce HMS Pinafore to raise funds for his Brazil benefit. He left a long legacy of community musical theatre in Yorkton. I had the musical pleasure of playing in the pit band through many great shows like My Fair Lady, Annie Get your Gun, etc. I wonder what every happened to Al,s leather brief case. He never went anywhere without it, It was so unique and I can still remember easily the sight of Al walking with this large well worn out brief case. It was such a pleasure to have known Al and appreciate his good works. I have continued to support Rainbow of Hope in memory of Al
